World Mental Health Day 2021

World Mental Health Day 2021

Sunday 10 October is World Mental Health Day 2021 and here at Saks Apprenticeships the mental health of all our apprentices, colleagues and employers is at the forefront of everything we do.

During the last 18 months this led to the introduction of our Facebook Forum and Zoom classes, which you can read more about on our Talking About Loneliness blog from earlier in the year, but now everyone is back at work and the world is opening up again the challenges and problems facing us all are a lot different.

Instead of the quiet isolation of lockdown, which brought its own unique issues, we are now faced with the lively hubbub of busy salons, which for some can be overwhelming, in place of the certainty of being at home there is now the pressure of keeping up with your friends and as well as keeping yourself happy there is the idea that you need to make sure everyone else is too.

It is in these situations that being able to give yourself some time to take things at your own pace and putting yourself in control of the things you can control will help your metal wellbeing and Saks Apprenticeships are there to help you get back that control.

Our experienced educators are always around to talk through any problems our apprentices, colleagues and employers may be having. Many people find that sharing their experiences with someone they trust can help them feel better and that’s exactly what our team can do. Just look at this comment from one of our apprentices.

“Weekly catch ups with my educator, Abbey, are very useful as they keep me focussed and give me a routine”
